Holiday Meet up July 5 Is On!

“Generally speaking, you should ask, he will tell”

Major General Bentley Rayburn – Up On The Roof

Not even the President would dismiss our next guest speaker. If you’re a proud American and patriot, please join Major General Bentley Rayburn, USAF (Ret.), as he discusses, with unvarnished truth, the issues that are relevant to us today. What are your hot buttons? Terrorism? Don’t ask don’t tell? General McChrystal, our troop morale and readiness, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq? Join us, and ask the General!

Let’s honor the America our Founding Fathers crafted so brilliantly. As we celebrate Independence Day, why not bring along some new friends and family? I’m also hoping to spice up the meet up with a special entertainment segment. “Generally” speaking, it should be a good time.

Tailgating/Park meet up before the meet up?

If anyone would like to meet up for a little extended bloviating and park-like activities, we could meet in the park directly behind Old Chicago’s about one block away. Please e-mail me at sacco@LibertyOnTheRocks.org and let me know if you are interested in a pre-meet up get together at the park, and I will send you additional park information.

Government’s Responsibilty?

“Government’s Responsibility” a presentation by Dr. Leland Baker, author of the book Tea Party Revival .

Saturday June 26th, 4pm – 5:30pm
East Library, 5550 N. Union Blvd.,
Colorado Springs, CO 80918

Dr Leland Baker will brief five major topics: Constitutional Compliance, size of the Federal Government, States’ rights, Balanced Budget and Individual Rights. The briefing focuses primarily on making you aware of fiscal irresponsibility in Wash DC, and is also designed to help you understand the “why” behind “what” is happening to our personal and economic liberties. This briefing gives you the intellectual ammunition you need to fight against bigger government and more spending, so that our kids and grandkids do not become indentured servants of self-serving elected officials.

Dr. Baker will be signing his book, Tea Party Revival.

Liberty on the Rocks – Colorado Springs is proud to sponsor this presentation.

Denver LOTR – Activism Night!

Join your fellow liberty-lovers for a fun night at Liberty on the Rocks Denver! This is the place to meet others in the community who desire liberty and freedom, and those who are fighting for it as well. Find out how to get involved, who to get involved with and what to do to help end tyranny in America.

This Wednesday we are delighted to highlight two important groups that are working to spread freedom in Colorado. We hope you will join us to meet the activists involved and find out how you can join in to make a difference!

Here is who will be joining us this coming week:

**The Independence Institute**

Mike Krause, Director of Operations and Center Director of the Justice Policy Center for the Institute, will present information on Jon Caldara’s health care petition to keep Obamacare out of our state. He will discuss the petition, including what the consequences will be if it passes/fails to make the ballot and/or ultimately becomes law.

If you want to ensure that Coloradans, including you and your family, still have a choice about your health care, you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity!

After Mike speaks about the petitions we can work together as a group to find a way to get more signatures and be a part of the solution for health care choice in Colorado!

Go here to read more about the initiative: http://tiny.cc/6ihml
**Front Range Objectivists**

Ari Armstrong, activist and author, will be briefly presenting The Front Range Objectivists. He will discuss what the group is all about, why the group is important and how you can get involved with it! FRO provides individuals multiple fun and interesting opportunities for learning about Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism, which is deeply rooted in the principles of freedom. Becoming educated with this important philosophy will not only allow you to better understand what is happening around you, but give you the tools to explain it to others as well!

Happy Hour Meet Up June 21st

A Rootin’ Tootin’, Straight Shootin’ “D”

Senator Morgan Carroll – Up On The Roof

June 21, 2010

Find out why our next guest speaker and Colorado native, Colorado State Senator Morgan Carroll is despised by the lobbyists and join us for our very first (and long overdue) female guest speaker. Senator Carroll has been instrumental in transparency, property rights, special districts, and HOA legislation. She believes in “protecting the constitution, transparency and checks-and-balances to all powers that could impair individual rights.” Learn more about Senator Carroll at http://www.senmorgancarroll.com.

I have personally worked with Senator Carroll on recent legislation and truly appreciate her efforts on transparency issues. Maybe I am biased, but she is my favorite “D!” (it doesn’t hurt that she is also a direct descendant of Daniel Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence). So saddle up to the roof top and fasten your seat belts for our next speaker.

Let’s bring some new faces to the group and show Senator Carroll how much we appreciate her making time for us and visiting outside of her district.

And don’t forget, just because the feds take July 5th off doesn’t mean Liberty retreats. So save the date for our patriotic Monday meet up.
