Freedom February

A Short Course in the Founding Fundamentals, featuring Dr. Thomas Krannawitter and his three part series of presentations and lectures in which we will explore the principles of freedom and the first regime in history built upon them, the United States of America. We will also examine the great challenge of preserving and advancing those principles in a world dominated by human slavery and the great Civil War that resulted, as well as the deep philosophic critique of those principles by progressive intellectuals and politicians, a critique that has been largely successful in undermining the authority of our Constitution and shaping our politics, law, and government today. The goal of this series is to help us understand better how we got to where we are today, and how we might improve our efforts to reclaim the limited government and free society that is rightfully ours.

February  15th & 29th, 7pm – 8:30pm at the Vanguard School Library,1605 D. South Corona Ave.,Colorado Springs.

Each seminar is $30

How to Make the Case for Freedom

From an Economic Perspective

Are you a liberty activist who loves free markets, capitalism and limited government – but have a difficult time describing its myriad benefits and merits when talking with others?

Then this is the educational training course for you!

Liberty on the Rocks is looking for leaders in the liberty movement (current or future) who are interested in obtaining insights into the basic fundamental principles of free market economics by attending a half-day educational course in Denver.  Tickets to attend are $10.

On Saturday, February 11th from 1:30-6:30pm, Liberty on the Rocks will team up with the Charles Koch Institute to present an exclusive hands-on, discussion and activity-driven economics session. During this half-day course, attendees will gain a better understanding of the case for freedom, as seen from an economic perspective. Through group discussion, activities, and an expert panel, participants will learn basic (yet vital) economic principles as well as historical arguments for why socialism doesn’t work – in addition to how to utilize these arguments in today’s battle for liberty. The philosophy of freedom will also be discussed briefly to point out the moral arguments for free market capitalism and self-interest. Following the training attendees will receive one-on-one contact with “liberty experts” in Colorado in an informal setting where they will be able to ask questions regarding free market economics, current policies, and/or the morality of freedom.

The Internet: Gutenberg Press of the 21st Century?

Celebrate liberty and fellowship with other liberty lovers on January 24th 5:30pm to 7:30pm at The Dublin House (1850 Dominion Way, Colorado Springs) enjoying Tavern Style Politics and Activism in the Tradition of our Founding Fathers.

In its obituary of internet pioneer Michael Hart, the founder of Project Gutenberg, the New York Times quoted Hart as saying that the internet has the potential of “overturning all established power structures.” The parallels between the Gutenberg press’s history of overturning power structures over the last 500 years and the Internet’s proven ability to do the same in our time are staggering. We will review some of those impacts that the Gutenberg press had, and that the Internet is now having. Printed copies of this presentation will be for sale as well.

Bob Adelmann will present tonight’s topic and then open the floor to respectful discourse in the best political format in town;  tavern style politics.  So come on out tonight and enjoy the discussion. You won’t be disappointed.

The evening’s entertainment will include the infamous 30 second soapbox, trivia and awesome happy hour deals along with a door prize or two.
