LOTR – CS: Government Shutdown / Debt Reduction?

You’re invited to join us as we celebrate Liberty and fellowship with other liberty lovers on April 12th, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at The Dublin House (1850 Dominion Way, Colorado Springs) enjoying Tavern Style Politics and Activism in the Tradition of our Founding Fathers.

The evening’s entertainment will include the infamous 30 second soapbox,  trivia and awesome happy hour deals, while warming us  up  to an open discussion on: Government Shutdown / Debt Reduction?  Will a government shutdown hurt or does it really matter?  What is truly at stake in the federal budget battle?  Let’s bring out all points of view from “we the people” and see if we can help our lost elected representatives find the right path to fiscal responsibility.

Learn How to Become a Citizen Auditor!

Liberty on the Rocks has teamed up in the past with Amy Oliver of Mothers Against Debt and the Independence Institute throughout Colorado and in Milwaukee. The result has been well over 100 individuals trained to be citizen auditors in their local communities along with a number of examples of government waste exposed. We are excited to announce that she is conducing another training on Sunday, March 6th. This event his being hosted by Jen Raiffie and the Tea Party Brewing Company.

The state is facing a $1 billion budget shortfall. Local governments (including school districts) are claiming poverty. We want to help by encouraging citizens to become active in exposing how the government spends our money and how they can provide cost savings for government.

Amy will teach concerned citizens how to use the state’s Transparency Online Project (TOP) web site, our Vendor Web site and how to submit a CORA request. They will also touch on local budgets and school districts as well. Using these tools, the Institute will encourage attendees to search for particular expenditures and to get as much detailed information about them as possible

Come learn how to be a citizen auditor and hold your elected officials accoutable. Amy Oliver will present this free 2 hour training session. If you are concerned about Broomfield City Council, Jefferson County School Board, and other elected officials, please come. Learn how to demand transparency and create transparency. This is what we need to combat ICLEI, Agenda 21, School Boards who are failing our kids in favor of Unions, and legislators with a progressive and socialist agenda. Call them out!

Wine Tasting – A Taste of Freedom!

Join Liberty on the Rocks and proudly toast to your Freedom and Liberty this September 23rd, 7:00 – 9:00 pm as we gather in support of Liberty for a wine tasting at Water 2 Wine (8130 South University Blvd., Centennial, CO) enjoying Tavern Style Politics and Activism in the Tradition of our Founding Fathers.

Sample and choose from Water 2 Wine’s more than 100 wines from 13 countries and allow your taste buds to travel around the world. Light appetizers will be provided.

Amy Oliver of the Independence Institute and Mothers Against Debt will be our guest speaker discussing the hot topic of: Transparency in Government.

A Taste of Freedom – Liberty on the Rocks Wine Tasting

Join Liberty on the Rocks and proudly toast to your Freedom and Liberty this August 24th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm as we gather in the name of Liberty at the D’Vine Wines Winery (934 Manitou Ave., Suite 108, Manitou Springs, CO) enjoying Tavern Style Politics and Activism in the Tradition of our Founding Fathers.

This will be a great opportunity to have some fun tasting wines in the historic spa building in Manitou Springs while networking… with fellow liberty lovers!

$10 per person includes tasting of 3 redand 3 white wines and a sommelier who will give us a detailed description of the wines and a tour of the wine making process. Complimentary food / snack trays will be provided.

Immigration & Election Night Results… Where Do We Go From Here?

Citizen Auditor Training with Amy Oliver

Liberty on the Rocks is proud to host Amy Oliver of the Independence Institute and Mothers Against Debt as she offers to enlighten us all with her Citizen Auditor Training.

Become a citizen auditor and win cash!

The Independence Institute will conduct classes to teach concerned citizens how to use the state’s TOPs Web site, our Vendor Web site and how to submit a CORA request. They will also touch on local budgets and school districts as well. Using these tools, the Institute will encourage attendees to search for “a” particular expenditures and to get as much detailed information about them as possible in order to win a cash prize. They will be.looking for wasteful, outrageous government spending. All entries must include a one-page summary and copies of supporting documents. Entries
are due on Friday, October 1st. Voting will take place between Oct. 4 and Oct. 10. Winners announced on October 12.

The best examples of wasteful spending that should be/could be cut out of state or local budgets will be posted on the fan pages of both Independence Institute and Mothers Against Debt. Become a fan and vote for your favorite wasteful expenditure. We encourage participants to get others to vote on line as well.

Prizes:
1st place — $2,500
2nd place — $750
3rd place — $500
Honorable mention — ten prizes $100 each.
